Andijan Region Administration Addresses Controversial Video of Governor Abdurahmonov
The administration of Andijan region in Uzbekistan has responded to the recent spread of an explicit video allegedly featuring Shuhrat Abdurahmonov, the governor of the region. It was reported that a complaint was filed with the prosecutor’s office against the dissemination of information that humiliates a person’s honor and dignity. Authorities are currently working to identify those who were responsible for the spread of the video and take appropriate measures against them through legal channels. The administration also reminded citizens that the rights to life, freedom, honor, dignity, and other inviolable human rights are considered the highest value in accordance with Article 13 of the Constitution of Uzbekistan. Previously, rumors circulated that Abdurahmonov had been removed from his position as governor, though the administration has since denied these reports.
