Central Asia and Russia Hold 6th Ministerial Meeting in Samarkand
On April 14, 2023, the sixth Ministerial Meeting in the format «Central Asia-Russia» took place in Samarkand. The meeting was attended by heads of foreign ministries from Central Asian countries and Russia, including the Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan V.Hajiyev.
During the meeting, the participants emphasized the significance of this format, discussed the status and potential of the six-party cooperation, and highlighted the consistency of contacts at the highest and senior levels.
The Turkmen delegation emphasized the need to carry out the agreements reached between the Presidents of Central Asian countries and Russia and proposed initiatives on cooperation in the fields of politics, diplomacy, trade, economy, culture, and humanitarian cooperation. It was suggested to draft a six-party framework agreement on international information security and create a permanent business format for the countries of Central Asia and Russia. In the cultural and humanitarian sphere, the Turkmen delegation proposed holding the first Festival of Culture and Arts of the Peoples of Central Asia and Russia.
The meeting concluded with an agreement to continue working regularly in this format, demonstrating the commitment of the participating nations to deepening cooperative ties.
