President Erdogan Joins Fast-Breaking Program with Earthquake Victims
Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan recently joined a fast-breaking program in Istanbul with earthquake victims and representatives from leading companies. Meltem Demirören Oktay, Vice Chairman of the Board of Directors for Demirören Holding, was one of many prominent figures in attendance.
During his speech at the event, Erdogan highlighted the importance of continuing to aid those affected by the recent earthquake in Turkey without slowing down. He emphasized that while they cannot bring back what was lost, they can do their best to repair the broken, complete the missing pieces, and heal the wounds. The President committed to a patient and determined approach to social mobilization until citizens who were forced to leave their homes, jobs, and hometowns can return.
After speaking with attendees and gaining insight into their needs, President Erdogan broke his fast with the earthquake victims and benefactors. He also took souvenir photos with those in attendance, showing solidarity with the community during this difficult time.
The earthquake, which occurred in late October, caused significant damage and losses in Turkey’s Izmir province. With the support of the government, businessmen, and the community, Turkey hopes to recover and rebuild in the months to come.
