Turkey Condemns Attack on Quran and Flag in Denmark
Turkey has strongly condemned the attack on its holy book, the Quran, and its flag in Denmark. In a statement released by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the country expressed its frustration that such vile attacks are still taking place under the guise of freedom of expression.
The Danish Ambassador in Ankara was summoned to the Ministry to be informed of Turkey’s stance on the matter. Turkey is determined to continue its efforts in multilateral platforms and bilateral fields to fight against such hate crimes. The country believes these attacks are a result of the alarming rise of Islamophobia and xenophobia in Europe.
Denmark’s attitude towards the situation has not been received well by all Muslims in the world. Turkey believes that the discomfort of billions of people is not being taken into account. The country is demanding that Denmark take deterrent measures to stop these provocations, especially during the holy month of Ramadan.
Turkey urges the world to stand together against such disgusting attacks and hopes that measures will be taken to prevent similar incidents from happening. The country is determined to do its part to make sure that these types of hate crimes are eradicated from the world.
