First Vice-President Mehriban Aliyeva Wishes Azerbaijani Christian Community a Happy Easter
On April 16, First Vice-President of the Republic of Azerbaijan Mehriban Aliyeva extended her Easter greetings to Azerbaijan’s Christian community via her official Instagram page. In her post, Aliyeva congratulated the entire Christian community on the occasion of Easter and wished all compatriots good health and happiness.
The post was accompanied by an image featuring a message written in both Azerbaijani and English that read: «I sincerely congratulate the entire Christian community of Azerbaijan on the occasion of Easter and wish all our compatriots the best of health and happiness!»
The Vice-President’s message came after President Ilham Aliyev’s earlier address to Azerbaijan’s Christian community, in which he wished them a happy Easter.
Easter is celebrated by Christians worldwide and represents the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead. While Azerbaijan has a predominantly Muslim population, the country is known for its religious tolerance and multiethnic diversity.
