Oral and Dental Screenings in Schools: Ministry of Health’s Ongoing Effort
The Ministry of Health’s Department of Basic Health Services has finished the Oral and Dental Health screening for 2nd and 3rd-grade primary school students in Nicosia. The screenings took place in seven schools in the district of Iskele with the help of dentists and a mobile service vehicle. In addition to the examinations, the students were given education on tooth brushing and nutrition for dental health. The screenings and trainings were received with great interest and excitement by the children and were successfully completed in Dipkarpaz Primary School, Yenierenköy Primary School, Şehit Menteş Zorba Primary School, Ziyamet Primary School, Kumyalı Primary School, Mehmetçik Primary School, and Konuk Primary School. The Department of Basic Health Services will continue scanning schools in Güzelyurt and Lefke in the coming weeks.
