President Tatar and his wife Sibel Tatar attended the opening of the exhibition “Touch on Paper”

President Ersin Tatar and his wife Sibel Tatar, within the scope of the 8th anniversary activities of the Cyprus Paper Artists Association (KKSD), in cooperation with the Paper Artists Association in Turkey (KSD), held at the Nicosia Atatürk Cultural Center (AKM) He participated in the opening of the exhibition “Touch”.

President Tatar, who started his speech at the opening by expressing his pleasure in participating in such a meaningful event, thanked the artists who came from Turkey to the TRNC and contributed to the creation of this exhibition with their works.

President Tatar emphasized that it is important for Turkish Cypriots to come together in such events in order to strengthen the bonds of love with the Republic of Turkey, and stated that paper art is a very special branch of art.

Noting that in the earthquake disaster that took place in Turkey on February 6, Tatar said that they were one heart and shared the pain experienced, and continued as follows:

“Painful events also concern art. An artist is an emotional person, a person who thinks about society, does not think about himself and gives a message to the society with his art. After this earthquake disaster, all artists will continue to exist with their works in order to transfer the sufferings to the next generation.

For a better future, for the Turkish Cypriot people to continue their existence in these lands, our struggle in Cyprus is to keep a Turkish state in the Eastern Mediterranean alive.
There is a Turkish Cypriot people who dominate at least as much as the Greeks in Cyprus. These people have their own art, culture, history and history. Art is a universal language. There are various embargoes applied on the TRNC. There are injustices done to limit our activities.

We are faced with a mentality that tries to isolate us from the world with obstructions. But we do not stumble upon these obstacles. Because our people are fighters and our artists are people who can share the customs, traditions and customs of the Turkish Cypriot people with their own values ​​in the events they participate in all over the world. Our artists continue to represent us despite all obstacles. Congratulations to all our artists.”
