Shock Admisión en el Fraude de Fondos de 55 millones de dólares: ‘La avaricia de estas personas me llevó a esto’

Seçil Erzan, who manages a private bank in Bakırköy, was arrested on charges of defrauding numerous people, including well-known football players such as Arda Turan, Emre Belözoğlu, and Fernando Muslera, out of 55 million dollars. The famous names who claim to have been defrauded by Erzan individually went to the court to testify to the prosecutor. A lawsuit was filed against 7 people, including Seçil Erzan, as part of the investigation initiated by the Istanbul Chief Public Prosecutor’s Office. The first hearing of the lawsuit was held today. Four of the seven accused defendants attended the hearing. Volkan Bahçekapılı and Emre Çolak, along with other plaintiffs, participated in the hearing.

Seçil Erzan’s lawyer Nazlı Karaaslan expressed her dissatisfaction, saying «My client is going to faint. Are we taking a lesson in Criminal Procedure Law here?» while Rezan Epözdemir, one of the plaintiff’s lawyers, considered this action disrespectful and replied: «The plaintiffs who lost 55 million will faint, not me.» After receiving the requests, the defendants’ identities were established.

Seçil Erzan, during identification, stated that she is a geologist but currently not working and doesn’t have a monthly income. In her defense, Seçil Erzan mentioned, «It all started from my unnecessary self-confidence and inability to say no to anyone. The little things I ignored turned out to be very big things. I was the captain of a ship in distress. If I were a swindler, the ship would have sunk and I would have survived,» she said.

The trial is ongoing with the defense of the other defendants. The lawsuit includes various claims. A total of 18 people, including former Galatasaray players such as Selçuk İnan, Emre Çolak, and Emre Belözoğlu, are complainants. Seçil Erzan, Ali Yörük, Asiye Öztürk, Atilla Yörük, Hüseyin Eligül, Kerem Can, and Nazlı Can are «suspects» listed in the file.

Don’t miss: Emre Belözoğlu lost all his savings! Investigation deepened, details were shocking.

In the indictment prepared by the Istanbul Chief Public Prosecutor’s Office, it is mentioned that Erzan promised to receive 3 million dollars in cash and return $ 3 million on April 3, 2023, with the aim of evaluating 2 million dollars. This was reported to the bank due to the inability to reach the branch manager, and a criminal complaint was filed against Erzan. The investigation was launched for the crimes of «banking embezzlement» and «qualified fraudulent scheme.»

From March 1, 2023, to April 7, 2023, a total of 77 video recordings from the bank manager’s office were examined, revealing entries and exits of the same people on different days. Erzan persuaded the plaintiff Bülent Çeviker to deposit into a high-yield fund by implying that respected people, such as Fatih Terim, also participated. Arda Turan stated that Erzan harassed him by calling frequently and persuaded him to invest his earnings in a high-yielding fund. He stated that he was given three stamped counterfeit documents and a wet signature.

Buse Terim Bahçekapılı reported that Erzan contacted her through her cousin Terim Arıcan, and she sent her accumulated 3.6 million liras as an investment in a high-yield fund, which was later converted to 190 thousand dollars and was not returned. Buse Terim’s husband Volkan Bahçekapılı, testified that he introduced the high-yield fund to Emre Belözoğlu, who gave him 3.3 million dollars to invest. This case involves many well-known Turkish football figures and how the investment took place.

In conclusion, the financial fraud conducted by Seçil Erzan caused not only their financial harm but also deep emotional distress to the individuals involved. The court case has turned into a long and intricate process and continues to captivate those involved.
