Speaker of the Grand National Assembly of Turkey Şentop received the delegation of the Assembly of the Republic

The delegation of the Temporary and Special Committee of the Assembly of the Republic on the Monitoring of the Legal and Judicial Process Related to the Earthquake, President of the Grand National Assembly of Turkey (TBMM) Prof. Dr. It was accepted by Mustafa Şentop.

-Şentop: “Our Ministry of Justice continues to follow up on Isias Hotel”

According to the information given by the parliament, Şentop started his speech with the statement “It is always a great pleasure for us to see you in the Grand National Assembly of Turkey”.

Emphasizing that the Republic of Turkey was exposed to a great disaster with the earthquakes, Şentop stated that the TRNC stood by and supported them with their statements and activities from the very first moments, and offered his thanks.

Stating that the losses in Isias Hotel increased the pain, President Şentop expressed his condolences to the TRNC for the losses.

Şentop said, «Your pain is our pain,» and that investigations into the buildings destroyed in the earthquake were carried out with great care.

Noting that samples were taken within the scope of the studies, Şentop emphasized that some of the suspects were arrested and that there are still those wanted, and said, «Our Ministry of Justice continues to follow up.»

Şentop emphasized the importance of establishing such a commission related to the subject and emphasized the importance of conveying the information to be obtained to the public clearly and unequivocally.

-Hasipoğlu: “A village of a thousand containers was established, 250 containers were sent”

Head of the Delegation, UBP Famagusta Deputy Oğuzhan Hasipoğlu, in his speech, emphasized that the TRNC has stood by the Republic of Turkey in every dimension since the disaster of the century took place, and stated that a great mobilization has been initiated.

Hasipoğlu said, «The pain of motherland Turkey is also our pain.»

Saying “We are one nation, two states”, Hasipoğlu underlined that many states helped, but the TRNC was the second most helpful state with the aid it provided.

Reminding that a thousand container village was established under the name of “City of Angels”, Hasipoğlu emphasized that 250 containers were sent.

Hasipoğlu emphasized that they will share this pain for the rest of their lives and stated that pain and joy are one.

Hasipoğlu said, «We have experienced the greatest suffering in this process,» and emphasized that 49 TRNC citizens lost their lives and that what happened at Isias Hotel was murder.

Giving information about the studies carried out, Hasipoğlu stated that there were serious flaws in the investigations and studies carried out, that the investigation was progressing rapidly and that arrests were made.

The delegation of the Republic Assembly will also go to Adıyaman.

Expressing that they will also go to Adıyaman, Hasipoğlu stated that they will follow the process from there and said, “We trust the judiciary and justice of the Republic of Turkey”.

Hasipoğlu stated that a committee has been established to follow up the process and said, “The lives lost do not come back, but the families we left behind are waiting for the results and decisions that will come out of this.”

Hasipoğlu emphasized that their expectation is that the highest and exorbitant penalties in the Republic of Turkey will be given to those whose crimes have been proven, and reiterated that they will follow this process.

Hasipoğlu emphasized that they will continue to contribute as a nation in the healing process of the wounds of the Motherland, and expressed his condolences to the Turkish nation and wished a speedy recovery to the injured.

At the reception, Konya Deputy Friendship Group President Orhan Erdem and Afyonkarahisar Deputy Earthquake Investigation Commission Chairman Veysel Eroğlu were also present.
