Holiday Weather Forecast
Holidaymakers across Turkey should expect showers and heavy rain, according to a recent report from the General Directorate of Meteorology. The report indicates that precipitation will be seen in many cities throughout the country, including Istanbul, Ankara and Izmir. The daily forecast report highlights that showers and thunderstorms are expected in several areas including Marmara, Aegean, the Western Mediterranean, and the northwest of Central Anatolia. Meanwhile, the weekly weather forecast report suggests heavy rain across Turkey for the first day of the holiday on Friday, April 21.
In addition to rainfall, holiday-makers and residents are urged to exercise caution in areas where there is an avalanche danger. Specifically, travellers should take care in the inner parts of the Eastern Black Sea Region, and on the slopes of Eastern Anatolia where there is a high snow cover.
While temperatures are predicted to increase by 2 to 4 degrees in eastern parts of Turkey, there will be no significant change for other parts of the country. Wind is expected to blow lightly from the south, occasionally increasing in strength. Those planning to travel during the holiday period are advised to stay up to date with the latest weather forecasts and travel advisories, to ensure their safety and to avoid any inconvenience caused by travel disruptions.
