More Than 1.5 Million Muslims Visit Masjid al-Haram in Mecca During Ramadan
During the holy month of Ramadan, Masjid al-Haram in Mecca, Saudi Arabia welcomed more than 1.5 million Muslims on the 25th night. The Haremeyn Affairs Presidency released a statement on its social media account confirming the news.
The Masjid al-Haram contains the Kaaba, which is Islam’s holiest site. The number of visitors recorded was the highest since the beginning of Ramadan, and it is a reflection of the devotion of Muslims to their religion.
The Ministry of Hajj and Umrah in Saudi Arabia had previously announced that individuals were allowed to perform Umrah only once during Ramadan. The move was made to enable more Muslims to experience the holy site and to improve the ability of worshipers to pray during the holy month.
